09 — Integration
Metallic Sciences is a materials supplier. Every division in the conglomerate requires alloys, coatings, or substrates that do not exist commercially. The relationships below are typed by dependency direction: what Metallic Sciences requires from upstream divisions to manufacture, and what it enables for downstream divisions that cannot function without its output.
REQUIRES — UPSTREAM
Highfield Magnetics — requires 50-Tesla coils for IF-1 Lorentz Force compaction, isotope-separation centrifuge, and magnetic domain tempering. Without extreme-field magnets, the IF-1 cannot shape metal.
Vapor Vacuum — requires clean vacuum environment (UHV-class) for all deposition, atom-by-atom alloy construction, and "forbidden" alloy synthesis.
Phase Flash — requires millisecond-scale quenching from 5,000°C to −200°C (surface cooling rates exceeding 10⁶ K/s) that locks the pre-calculated lattice before grains can form.
Aetheric Sciences — requires real-time lattice calculation for the IF-1 shaping field. Diamond wafer substrate from the C-Forge.
Maxwell Continuum — requires high-powered lasers to atomise raw ore into plasma. YAG laser gain medium crystals grown in the Transparent Works. Photonic Dam "light-molds" for zero-waste casting.
Stellar Furnace — requires 1.2 GW peak power supply for the IF-1.
ENABLES — DOWNSTREAM
Stellar Furnace — enables reactor containment via tungsten carbide heat shielding and MS-Thermal alloys.
Lorentz Aerospace — enables transparent titanium cockpit canopies (Parabola Glass), SX superalloy drive components, graphene hull coating from the C-Forge.
Foundation Kinetics — enables featherweight titanium frames for robotic actuators, carbon nanotube muscle cables.
Brainwave Systems — enables bio-compatible gold electrodes with lattice geometry matched to human neural proteins.
Fermat Logistics — enables MS-Conductive superconducting wire for maglev rail infrastructure.
Polymer Press — interfaces with polymer matrix composite fabrication. Metal-polymer hybrid structures combine Metallic Sciences alloys with Polymer Press molecular-aligned matrices.
